I LOVE this dish! An Italian chef made this way back in the 1980’s at a little restaurant called The Louisiana Purchase in my hometown of Littleton, Massachusetts. We have talked about it for years, then, I found your recipe in a cookbook that I later let go. I thought the book was called Roma. But I found it again in Italian Comfort Food and make it all the time. Had it last night and all my Facebook friends want the recipe. I’ll share from here. I can’t do a can and a half of anchovies, however.
